Measurement of K(+) production cross section by 8 GeV protons using high-energy neutrino interactions in the SciBooNE detector. Author(s) Bugel, Leonard G.; Author: Leonard G. Bugel, Janet Conrad, Georgia Stelios Karagiorgi, Teppei Katori, Van Thanh McGary, Hiroya. The production of pions, which is accompanied (on average) by neutrons, has an energy threshold of ~ MeV for p-p and ~ MeV for p-α interactions, giving, therefore, a lower limit to the maximum energy of the particles accelerated at the Sun." Protons.

The list of fundamental particles now includes 24 ‘matter’ particles (six leptons and six quarks and their antiparticles) and five ‘force’ particles (gluon, photon, W, Z and graviton. Abstract (arXiv) The production of $\pi^+$, $\pi^-$, $K^+$, $K^-$, p, and pbar at mid-rapidity has been measured in proton-proton collisions at $\sqrt{s} =$ GeV.

The mean stopping power for high-energy muons (or other heavy charged particles1) in a material can be described by [1] h dE=dxi = a(E)+b(E)E ; (1) where E is the total energy, a(E) is the electronic stopping power, and b(E) is due to radiative processes|bremsstrahlung, pair production, and photonuclear interactions: b bbrems +bpair +bnucl (2). Six of the particles in the Standard Model are quarks (shown in purple). Each of the first three columns forms a generation of matter.. The Standard Model is the theoretical framework describing all the currently known elementary particles, as well as the unobserved Higgs boson. This model contains six flavors of quarks (q), named up (u), down (d), charm (c), strange (s), top (t), and bottom (b).

### Production of six charged particles in [pi] P interactions at 7 GeV/c by Peter Louis Berenyi Download PDF EPUB FB2

RESULTS AND DISCUSSION We have analyzed the data using the multiplicity parameters (correlation coefficients). They are defined in table 2, which also gives the values of the parameters computed from our data at 70 GeV/c. Fig. I shows, for 7- p interactions, a compilation of the charged multiplicity, plotted versus lab by: We present new data on charged particle production in p p interactions at GeV/isons are made between p p annihilations (estimated by differences) between corresponding p p and pp data samples) and e + e − annihilation into hadrons.

A technique for separating the inclusive proton and pion spectra is described and the resulting pion spectra are studied in terms of Feynman x Cited by:   An independent check of σ A was made by investigating fast forward charged and neutral secondary interactions in the TST and in the surrounding neon-hydrogen mixture, and gives a value σ A = ± mb.

The ratio of fast $$\bar n$$ to $$\bar p$$ production in non-annihilation interactions at 70 GeV/c is found to be ±Cited by: 7. One hundred and thirty-seven interactions producing charged outgoing particles were observed.

Of these, 27 were elastic scattering events, 64 were inelastic collisions having two charged outgoing prongs, 39 had four prongs, 3 had six prongs, and 4 involved the production and. Abstract. The correlation parameters describing the simultaneousπ 0 and charged particle production in the 5– GeV/cπ − p collisions are studied.

The linear dependence of the associatedπ 0 average multiplicity 〈n 0 〉 n− on the negative particle multiplicity n − in momentum range under consideration is observed. The newπ − p data indicate that the correlations betweenπ 0 Cited by: 1. A study of pion-proton interactions in a liquid H bubble chamber is reported.

A Bev/c negative pion beam incident upon a 14 in. dia. chamber caused interactions, from which those with 4 charged secondaries were selected and measured. Fits were attempted to the following final states: 3 pi plus or minus P, 3 pi + P + pi /sup o/, and 4 pi + n.

The results of the measurements of the double-differential production cross-sections of pions in p-C and $\pi^\pm$-C interactions using the forward spectrometer of the HARP experiment are presented.

The reaction is found to be dominated by production of the quasi-two body final states K* p and KoN*. The absorptive peripheral model has been compared to the K* production data and although the spin density matrix elements show general agreement with its.

Shower tracks are caused by produced charged particles (mostly pions) moving at relativistic speeds (b > ). The ionization of a shower track I ≤ I 0, where I 0 ≈ 20 grains/ mm, is the minimum ionization due to any track ob-served within a G5 plate.

The total number of such tracks in an event is denoted n by: 5. Figures 4, 5, and 6 show the transverse momentum spectra of, and in interactions at 3, 8, and 15 GeV/c with different angular bins.

The symbols indicate the HARP-CDP experimental data [] and the solid lines indicate the results of the multisource thermal results of are in agreement with the experimental corresponding parameters and are listed in Tables 2 and : J.

Abstract: Spectra of K0S mesons and Lambda hyperons were measured in p+C interactions at 31 GeV/c with the large acceptance NA61/SHINE spectrometer at the CERN SPS. The data were collected with an isotropic graphite target with a thickness of 4% of a nuclear interaction length. The analysis is based on the full set of data collected in with a graphite target with a thickness of 4% of a nuclear interaction by: We present the results of the experimental study of the reaction of dipion production by the beam of the negative pions with momentum GeV/c on the.

The objective of the HARP experiment is a systematic study of hadron production for beam momenta from GeV/c to 15 GeV/c for a large range of target nuclei [1]. The main motivations are: a) to measure pion yields for a quantitative design of the proton driver of a future neutrino factory, b) to.
